EXPERIENTIAL   |    ANIMATION

Three Sundance Film Festivals

Sundance commissions a guest artist each year to create the central film festival graphic image. DMD’s unique approach produced a suite of imagery, adding new opportunities for diversity and surprise to the many experiential applications.

DMD was the first to produce the theme and all graphics for the Sundance Film Festival. Previously, an artist was commissioned to produce a single image, and the festival graphics were developed by agencies in L.A. and Salt Lake City as materials were needed. We conceived of the campaign in its entirety, producing the design and templates months ahead for Print, Animation, Digital, Signage, Advertising & Merchandising. All materials, including the introduction of animation and an expanded array of merchandise, were produced on or before schedule, making these festivals the most successful to date. As a result, DMD was also the first ever to be asked to design the festival three times.
